Topic: Disclosure Requirements for Employers – No Surprise Billing
Description:
This presentation will include information on new benefit-related disclosure requirements for employers under the federal No Surprises Act and the Illinois Consumer Coverage Disclosure Act. The No Surprises Acts requires self-insured employers and group health plans to publicly disclose new protections against balance billing by out-of-network providers. The Consumer Coverage Disclosure Act requires employers that provide group health insurance coverage to provide a disclosure to employees documenting whether the Illinois Essential Health Benefits are covered under their health plans. We will discuss the requirements of these Acts, the timeline for such disclosures, and issues to consider both in making the disclosures and distributing them.
