Samuel Castree will address important law and benefit changes and trends that may not have received as much publicity as COVID-19 but will have a significant impact on employers. This includes changes limiting the use of non-compete agreements in IL, new equal pay certification requirements, and more.
Current Illinois COVID-19 safety mandates will be followed during this meeting.
Consciously or not, all of us carry biases towards individuals and/or groups, and it goes far beyond race. Implicit, or unconscious, biases are thoughts or prejudices we have developed, of which we are unaware. In the workplace, they cause people to make decisions that exclude some people, and include others – in hiring, promotions, and project teams for example. Implicit bias can be detrimental to your business or organization, and have significant impacts on staff, volunteers, and those with whom we’re interacting. The material presented was to help you understand where implicit bias starts, and how to examine your own in order to interrupt our reliance on learned behaviors and thought patterns related to those who don’t look like us.
